It’s been a common practice in our household to plan at least a week ahead with our meals. This upcoming year we’re shooting for a month ahead.
With that in mind, I worked with my husband to put together a meal planning printable which will not only help you from wondering “what’s for dinner” each night, but will also help you manage your pantry as well as your wallet.
With this meal planning printable you will receive:
The Monthly Calendar, if you’re a working family like us with kids still in school & activities you’re probably only planning for dinner, but if you’re a home schooling parent, or parent of little ones and need to plan a breakfast and lunch, you can easily print multiples if needed. This page also includes an area to add special events and holidays so you know when to plan a slow-cooker meal or heat up those yummy left-overs.
Weekly Planning, this page is designed to help with your weekly planning and shopping list with areas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also has an area to brainstorm meals with what’s already in your pantry and to plan ahead for your grocery list. (simply cut this section off and head to the store!)
Today’s Menu, this page is one of my favorites. We have the children choose which meal they’d like to cook each week and ensure we have a balanced diet. We have also included an area for prep & cook time so it allows us to plan ahead.
Recipe, We love trying out new recipes, but I’ll be honest, we rarely stick to them. It’s quite often that we add a different ingredient or take something out. If you’re the same, being able to rewrite the recipe “your way” will be handy for you! If you need some new ideas be sure to check out my husband’s blog for some of our favorites!
Family Favorites, after each new recipe we take a vote, yay or neigh! It’s a great go-to list to have when you’re having a difficult time filling your calendar with new recipes.
Kitchen Inventory, this page is for people like my husband who when at the store picks up 5 cans of green beans to only find out that we have 10 already in the pantry… If you’re like him, or simply want to work through what you already have in your kitchen then you’re going to love this printable. It has a check area for pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and deep freeze as well so you know where they’re located. I’ve also added an expiration column so you can keep track of what you need to use up first.
Grocery List, lastly the final page to this set is your grocery list. With 12 categories for shopping, a column for qty, as well as cost to help you stay in budget.
I hope this meal planning printable set will help you and your family take the stress out of the age old question, “what’s for dinner”
