Wacky Holidays are a great way to have fun each month on social media or even at home with the family and community! I’m going help get you started with some unique ideas you can do throughout the month of April.
With COVID-19 forcing us all to stay home, I’ve decided to change it up a bit. Instead of outlining in home parties I have put together a few ways to party online.
Fundraiser Ideas – April is Autism Awareness month. You could host an online shopping party and donate a portion of the proceeds to a local Autism Center. Be sure to highlight any products that you have that can carry the autism puzzle piece or heart.
As many business’ are doing, you could host an online fundraiser for your local first responders. Many communities have volunteer fire departments which many do not know are the first to respond to medical calls. These brave men and women are the first to come in contact with anyone who may be sick. These organizations are funded by grants, private donations, and fundraisers. Show your appreciation by hosting a private fundraiser on their behalf.
Unique Virtual Social Ideas – Host an online reading party. Find a time of day where you can go live on facebook or another social platform and read a book to your party guests. You could even ask your followers to join in the fun and you can share their live or pre-recorded videos of them reading their favorite books. (You can even stage a few products in the background.)
Host an online gardening party. If you have the green thumb and love to garden this is perfect for you to share with your followers what you’re up to in your garden. You can go live or pre-record how to videos on planting your favorite flowers or starting your vegetable garden. This will also allow for your followers to chime in with their gardening expertise as well. (if you offer any products which would go along with gardening be sure to use them or have them handy in your videos)
Host an online craft corner. In the weeks leading up to Easter this is a great time to share some egg-tastic crafting ideas. Share pictures or how-to videos on some of your easter crafts. This is great for children and adults. Have your followers join in the fun and post their completed projects! If you need some craft ideas I have put together a board on my Pinterest page filled with crafts for all ages. You can check in out HERE!
April 1st – April Fools Day…. well this is a no brainer, today is a great day to share something silly with your friends and family.
April 7th – No Housework Day – YES!!! Ask your followers what their least favorite chore is.
April 16th – National High Five Day – give your followers a virtual high-five today. (I wouldn’t encourage in person high-fives at this time.)
April 22nd – Earth Day – plant a tree today and encourage each of your followers to do so as well.
